Natural Acne Solutions | Ten Things You Should Know
These simple natural acne solutions will provide easy and effective ways of treating your acne and can be used with other acne solutions.
1. Do not pick, press or rub spots.
All of actions increase the amount of sebum that your body produces and will rupture the membranes below your skin. Infection will result and cause acne to spread underneath your skin and more spots will break out. Also picking the spots increases the risk of future scarring.
2. Do Not Wash Your Face More Than Twice Daily.
If is possible only wash your face twice daily and use a mild soap and preferably sulfur soap that is specifically designed for acne. If your skin is very oily, use a soap that has benzoyl peroxide soap in it. Do not use rough sponges, brushes or anything similar in order to wash your face and avoid over-washing it to reduce the chance of stimulating the sebaceous glands and causing them to produce more sebum.
3. Eat healthly.
In some cases acne can be caused by a food allergy and it is a good idea to avoid eating too much oilly or spicy food. Recent studies shown that acne can be caused by milk and dairy products which contain hormones. Also seafood contains relatively high levels of iodine and should also be avoided. If possible it is best to cut down on these foods and increase your intake of green vegetables, vegetable juices and foods which are rich in zinc as they can help to alleviate the problems associated with acne.
4. Drink a lot of water.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. This benefits by keeping the organs flushed and working to carry waste material out of the body and also helps to heal and prevent acne flare ups.
5. Avoid wearing makeup.
Try to avoid wearing makeup as this can clog your pores and may cause more blackheads and spots. If you do need to wear make up always use a water based product (rather than oil based) and cleanse your skin before you going to bed each night.
6. Avoid oily products.
Do not use such products as hair pomades, intense oil based facial moisturizers and oily cleansers.
7. Keep your hair and face clean.
regularly shampoo your hair and keep it tied back from your face especially when you go to sleep and try not to touch your face constantly with your hands as this will not only keep it cleaner but avoids spreading oil from your skin.
8. Regularly Exercise
Try to exercise regularly to increase blood circulation and remove toxins from the body..
9. Avoid Stressful Situations.
Studies have shown that stress will not only increase an acne flare up but it also worsens the condition of a persons skin. So take activities that will keep your stress free, walking (also good for circulation), listening to music, fishing, knitting, crochet, reading anything that will keep you calm and relaxed.
10. Get out in the fresh air
Fresh air is good for the skin so long as we do not have to much sunshine. The sun stimulates Vitamin D in our bodies, essential for healthy skin. Be careful and do not get burnt as getting heavily forms a layer on the skin which does not allow the skin to exfoliate quickly and can cause the pores to become blocked.
I hope these natural acne solutions will help you in combating your acne problem.
